7.4. Online deposit

Since the extraordinary thesis defence session of October 2019, FOOT students have been required to make two deposits to defend their final thesis:

 Deposit of documents (ATENEA–final theses) + administrative deposit (e-Secretaria)

Final thesis deposit manual (supervisors) – Final thesis deposit manual (students) – Guides and manuals for ICT services

N.B. Students must make two deposits in order for their thesis to be deemed to have been submitted.

DEPOSIT OF DOCUMENTS

Application: ATENEA–final theses, “Submission” section

Objective: To deposit final thesis documents.

N.B. If the content of a thesis is confidential, the student may submit it through ATENEA–final theses and submit the original confidentiality clause to the secretary’s office.

Final theses and appendices must be submitted in PDF format so that they can be analysed by the UPC's anti-plagiarism system.

 

DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED

24 ECTS-credit bachelor's thesis:

  • Thesis with the following sections:
    • Official cover page for FOOT bachelor's theses
    • A 200-word abstract in Catalan, Spanish and English
    • Thesis
    • For students whose foreign language skills have not been certified, a long abstract in English (1,500–2,000 words)
  • A long abstract in Catalan or Spanish (1,500–2,000 words)

Bachelor's thesis 18+6 ECTS credits Thesis and accompanying documents:

  • Thesis with the following sections:
    • Official FOOT bachelor’s thesis cover page
    • A 200-word abstract in Catalan, Spanish and English
    • Thesis
    • For students whose foreign language skills have not been certified, a long abstract in English (1,500–2,000 words)
    • Record sheets for supervised cases

 Students must also:

  • Submit the Excel files for the Vision Observatory (ATENEA).
  • Complete this self-assessment form (which will only be available for a few weeks prior to the deposit date). The student’s tutor at the host company will be sent a different assessment form.

Master’s thesis:

  • Thesis with the following sections:
    • Official FOOT master’s thesis cover page
    • A 200-word abstract in Catalan, Spanish and English
    • Thesis
  • Accompanying documents (if necessary)

ADMINISTRATIVE DEPOSIT

Application: e-Secretaria, “Projects” section

Objective: To complete the form with the thesis details. Details that must be provided include the following:

  • Language of the documents/defence.
  • Other details concerning the final thesis.
  • Type of dissemination: Only Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs (CC BY-NC-ND) licenses are used. Students may only decline to authorise the dissemination of their final thesis if it is subject to confidentiality restrictions, in which case the student must submit the confidentiality document (bearing the original signatures of the parties) to the secretary's office.

N.B.: It is not possible to attach any files in the e-Secretaria.
